Olsson Industries is formed by Norman Olsson, Olaus's youngest son, along with his sons Charles and Malcolm. This was in response to a demand from graziers for supplements to support the nutritional needs of their livestock during a severe drought.
1957
Charles and Norman purchase Pacific Salt, their first salt works located in Warooka, South Australia.
1968
Charles and Malcolm take over the lease of salt works from BHP north of Whyalla, South Australia.
1983
Charles, Malcolm, and their cousin Don Olsson embark on building a new solar sea salt plant in Port Alma, Queensland. The construction takes five years to complete.
1988
Charles Olsson becomes the sole managing director of Olsson Pacific.
2012
Olsson's Sea Salt successfully launches their sea salt flakes in the Australian gourmet community. These flakes are now used in various renowned establishments across the country.
2013
Olsson's introduces the macrobiotic sea salt and the highly anticipated Black Truffle Salt at the end of the truffle season.
2015
Olsson's Smoked Salt, which undergoes a 72-hour smoking process on Red Gum, is being prepared for the market.
