Super Easy Crochet Beanie Pattern 4ply Version (US TERMS)

Newborn to fit 35cm-37cm head

3.5mm Hook

 

Notes

2ch at beginning of every row does not count as a stitch

**You can add or decrease rows 8-17 to lengthen or shorten beanie.

 

Pattern

Chain 4, Slip Stitch in first stitch to make a ring (Or use Magic Circle Method)

Row 1 Ch2 10 x dc in ring, Slip Stitch in top of ch2 at beginning of row to join

Row2 Ch2 2dc in each stitch around.

Row 3 Ch2 (1dc, 2dc in next stitch) repeat to end, Slip Stitch in ch2 at beginning of row to join

Row 4 Ch2 (1dc, 1dc, 2dc in next stitch) repeat to end. Slip Stitch in ch2 at beginning of row to join

Row 5 Ch2 (1dc in next 3 stitches, 2dc in next stitch) repeat to end. Slip Stitch in top of ch2 at beginning of row to join

Row 6 Ch2 (1dc in next 4 stitches, 2dc in next stitch) repeat to end. Slip Stitch in top of ch2 at beginning of row to join

Rows 7 Ch2 (1dc in next 5 stitches, 2dc in next stitch) repeat to end. Slip Stitch in top of ch2 at beginning of row to join

Rows 9-17 Ch2 1dc in each stitch around. Slip Stitch in top of ch2 at beginning of row to join

 

Cut yarn, sew in ends.. and you’re done!

Super Easy Knitted Beanie Pattern 8ply Version

Newborn to fit 35-37cm Head.

4mm Needles

8ply acrylic, wool or cotton

 

Notes

This pattern is easily adapted to any ply yarn and needle size.  Simply cast on enough stitches to create width of approximately 30-35cm.

 

Also easily adapted to create longer slouch style beanies or a fold up cuff, just increase the number of rows before creating the gather.

 

Pattern

Cast On  60 stitches

Row 1 Knit

Row 2 Purl

Repeat Row 1 and 2 until work measures 14-16cm (approximately 36 Rows), ending with a row 2.

Cut yarn leaving 50cm tail.

Thread tail onto darning needle and feed needle through stitches on needle, dropping stitches as you sew through them.

Pull yarn to create neat gathering, sew sides together using mattress stitch.

 

Cut Yarn and sew in ends.
