Davidson Plum Powder

DAVIDSON PLUM (Davidsonia jerseyana) or Aboriginal name Ooray is a small to medium sized rainforest tree and a popular bush food source. There are 3 different varieties of Davidson Plum native to both NSW and south east QLD. The tree bears fruit with a vibrant purple coloured skin and burgundy flesh. Davidson Plum has long been a food source for indigenous Australians whom ate them raw despite having a very tangy sour flavour. They are most often used in the culinary world to make beautiful jams, wine, ice-cream and sauces.
